Over his 25 year career, Tal has gained extensive expertise and experience in consulting to and managing technology companies and investments. Tal started researching the blockchain space in 2016 and realized the huge promise this technology holds. Since then he has consulted to several blockchain start ups and entrepreneurs, as well as to some major non blockchain companies about formulating their blockchain strategy. After serving multiple clients in this sector Tal joined Compass Blockchain Solutions as Chief Executive Officer. Earlier in his career, Tal held an operational role as CEO of Sirin Labs, a cyber-phone manufacturing company that he co-founded. The company holds the acclaim of having developed the world’s most secure and advanced mobile phone, targeted at C-suite executives, globally. This accomplishment was made, due in large part, to Tal’s raising of $72 million for the company, who opened locations in Mayfair, London, Harrods of London, Heathrow VIP lounges and The Majestic Hotel in Cannes of France.
Prior to his work at Sirin Labs, Tal was a founding management member and senior executive at the FinTech company Markets.com, a global Forex and CFD trading provider. His duties included managing and arranging operational departments in the company (sales, retention, compliance, bank office), as well as M&A and business development activity, and ultimately, sole management of one of the forex brands of the company.
Tal led a Google Israel Adwords sales team across several industries (including finance sector), and prior to that, worked as a consultant at Mckinsey & Co, where he focused on FIG (Financial Institution Group) customers. In 1999, Tal co-founded iBetcha.com, an Internet games company, later acquired by Vivendi Universal Games.
At the beginning of his career, Tal was a financial correspondent for ‘Maariv Daily Newspaper’ and a reporter for Forbes Magazine in Israel.
Tal is a father of 5 children and holds an LLB from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
